About the Provider
Cesar Santiago, MD, FACS, FASCRS is board certified in colon and rectal surgery, and has earned designation as an Intuitive Epicenter for minimally invasive robotic-assisted colorectal surgery. Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Santiago earned his medical degree from the Ponce School of Medicine there. His internship and residency in general surgery were at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Santiago was in private practice for 16 years beginning in 2006. From 2012 to 2018, he served as the medical director of the Center for Advanced Robotic Surgery and Chief of Colorectal Surgery for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. From January of 2019 to late 2021, Dr. Santiago served as the Surgery Medical Director of the Robotic Colorectal Program for the Sarah Cannon Research Institute and Cancer Center, a division of HCA Healthcare.
